DockATot Product Review

As a new mom, it’s hard to wrap your head around all the different gadgets and gizmos that are offered for babies. There are so many different variations of products and picking the right ones can be a daunting task. When it comes to baby loungers, there are a few options available but nothing compares to the original DockATot. I used it with my first baby in the larger, Grand size until she was a year old and am now using the Deluxe, smaller size, for my baby boy.

WHY WE LOVE OUR DOCKS:

  • Safety- The DockATot is safe for babies because of its breathable and non-toxic materials made in Europe. Although it isn’t recommended for unsupervised sleep, it is a very safe alternative for co-sleeping and daytime lounging.
  • Portability- It’s so convenient to be able to take the dock with us wherever we go. Weather we’re going to grandma’s house or just waling over to the kitchen to make dinner, it’s great to take along and set baby inside so you can get some work done.
  • Style- The DockATots come in many different styles to match your taste. They come in many different styles and prints so you can get those adorable photos of your babies in them.

I can say that, without a doubt, the DockATot is my number one used baby product. I put my baby in it most of the day and when he’s super fussy, I can bring the dock into our bed and know that he can safely co-sleep with us. Once my little guy is past the eight month mark, I’ll definitely be getting him the Grade size to match his sister. For more information and where to purchase, please visit: https://dockatot.com

DockAtot Travel Bag

If you’ve read my previous post about owning a DockAtot, then you know how much both Emma and I love it! Due to some recent unfortunate events, we had to evacuate our home for 3 weeks while construction crews were there and I was so happy to be able to take my DockAtot with us. We stayed with some family members and to make Emma as comfortable as possible, I knew I couldn’t leave it behind. I’ve traveled with it in the past, but have always had issues with transportation. Since its something that Emma uses for sleeping, I like to keep it extra clean and was so excited to receive this new “On the Go” Grand Transport bag in Midnight Teal

It comes nicely folded in this bag so when you’re done using it, its easily stored. I love how it doesn’t take up a ton of room since I’m always short on storage (I mean, who the heck isn’t?!).

As you can see from this photo, the dock slides in easily and there’s even room for additional sleep items you’d like to take with you on your travels. The fabric is nice and thick so I would feel very comfortable checking it in on a long flight. It’s also super light weight and can be carried either on your shoulder or in your hands. It comes in two colors and sizes depending on weather you have the Deluxe or Grande.

Bottom line: when you make an investment like this, it’s almost a no-brainer to want to protect it and keep it in its best condition. This travel bag does exactly that! I’d definitely recommend it! Happy travels!

DockAtot

img_6448As a new mom, I was super anxious about baby’s sleeping habits. I don’t know about you, but when I don’t get enough sleep, I turn into a monster! In the newborn stage, Emma would wake every 3 hours for a feeding and it would still take me another 45 minutes to an hour to put her back down. Although it wasn’t ideal, I figured it to be normal and sucked it up. Fast forward to her four month sleep regression and OMG I was ready to fly off the handle. Emma would wake up every two hours and it would take me another 45 minutes to put her back down. At this point, I had transitioned her into her crib in her own room and I had a feeling that her mattrass just wasn’t soft and comfy enough. I would watch her through the monitor and see her toss and turn all night. None of us were getting any sleep! She was refusing to even nap in her crib during the day time. I tried to sleep train her as she got closer to her fifth month, but that was a disaster that I will leave for a future blog post! I was at my wits end when I began to do a lot of research. Heres what I was looking for:

  • Safety- I can say, without a doubt, that this is every moms number one goal: SAFETY. I needed something breathable, non-toxic and lightweight.
  • Practicality- This product is so genius! Its made to feel like its cuddling your infant! When the baby falls asleep in my arms, I want to be able to set her down in an environment where she feels cozy, and man does the DockAtot feel cozy!
  • Bang for my buck- Being on a one income household, I like to always get what I pay for, and then some! Its true that the DockAtot is a bit pricy ($165-$185 with cover for the deluxe size and $260-$290 with cover for the grand option) but can you really put a price on sanity?!

Being that Emma was now a six month old, at the time that I was the most desperate for sleep, I decided to purchase the Grand DockAtot. It goes up to 36 months so I was happy to know that I can use it for years to come. It will eventualy go into her toddler bed. Its a great way to transition from crib to bed because she won’t feel much of a difference in space. The Deluxe option is for newborn to 9 months and I wish I had purchased it sooner! The first night we put her in the DockAtot, she slept a full eight hours! I thought to myself, “Just img_6444-2-copya coincidence, can’t be that magical”…WRONGGG! She’s now almost eight months old and sleeps without waking almost through the night. Her daytime naps are heavenly and I get to have some time for myself. Another great feature is that its perfect for travel. It comes in a nice traveling bag that you can take with you on the road or to grandmas and grandpas for sleepovers. Its definitely worth the investment and if you type “10OFF” at checkout, you’ll receive a $10 discount. I WAS IN NO WAY PAID FOR THIS POST OR MY REVIEW. I just love to share all the things that make my life simpler and make being a mom more enjoyable. This worked for me and many many others that have tried the product, but I encourage you to visit their website for a more thorough an detailed explanation of the the DO’s and DONT’s. http://www.dockatot.com img_6449
